Vernet Clemons Nettles, Ed.D is a parent, an educator, and a poet - and as of 2024 - a retiree.  She has devoted her time to encouraging her daughter to be her best, to enjoy, to be happy in life, and to reach her dreams.

For more than 30 years, Dr. Nettles has focused her career on encouraging students considered at-risk and less likely to succeed.  Dr. Nettles' career included tenure in the Alabama State Department of Education and two of the state's largest school systems.  Much of her career involved the administration of federal funds within schools and districts.

Dr. Nettles has also served in various positions in the churches in which she has been a member, living and loving the exploration of God's Word.
